vue - A Simpler Way: Crisis as Opportunity (2016) - Free Full Documentary
Download the film at http://happenfilms.com/a-simpler-way A Simpler Way: Crisis as Opportunity is a free feature-length documentary that follows a community in Australia who came together to explore and demonstrate a simpler way to live in response to global crises. Throughout the year the group build tiny houses, plant veggie gardens, practice simple living, and discover the challenges of living in community. This film is the product of hours and hours of footage that I shot during that year-long experiment in simple living. There are so many people in the world. I boggles my mind to think about it.

Seems like Amish Communities might have alot of good ideas.

Simpler, less consumer, greedy, indulgent living is fundamental however I agree with many this is regressive and does nothing to deal with the reality of the world we live. An eco community for our current population would mean replacing pre-existing accomodation with ecological highrises and leaving as much nature untouched as possible, no keep using more, making better use of what we already have used. Meat, fish and dairy consumption are environmentally damaging, if people are starving then let them hunt but we are not and we have no need to induldge in such things. Compassion towards animals would almost undeniably equate to compassion towards humans and life too, it shouldnt be available in shops.

Thank you for making this film and making it available. I found both the content and the pacing to be excellent. This film does a very good job of communicating something complex, important and urgently needed with compassion, artistry and wit. Congratulations to the producers and the participants for your caring and sharing.

seems they're all European?

On an ecological note yeah it initially is beneficial. The limitations of what they are doing is that they might not have the memory of the weakness of tribal life. Once you get to two generations it can become very stale and less progressive. If you have more than one tribe you might need to worry about tribalism, especially Australia, they could worry about the potential of being overrun by asians. After several generations people who offer trinkets could potentially buy you out or distabilise you and infiltrate you.

is that song that was live at the end available to download ?

You spoiled it with those dead animals. Come on you caring people, you already have what to eat from the earth, you don't need to kill some innocent animals. Other than that, excellent documentary and way of life!

Sure it's easy to live in a small space when you are alone. Add another human to that "little house" and see how tranquil it is!

Isn't Elizabeth Wade Free Lee the banana girl?

This is a real treat. I thought it would be grunge and grubby living. But the homes, albeit too small, were done professionally and beautifully. The challenge is the economy - how to make a real living. In the end, they all had to go back to make money in the mainstream economy. Great for life value documentary though.

A wonderful documentary, and encouragement to all of us to continue living in a simpler way.

One year seems completely inadequate.
