Campaign ad shot by documentary filmmaker Albert Maysles (of Grey Gardens fame) for Carl E. Sanders' 1970 race for the Georgia governorship. Carl Sanders is best remembered as Georgia's first New South governor, a Democrat who provided progressive leadership for the state from 1963 to 1967. Sanders ultimately lost to Jimmy Carter, who went on to become the 39th President of the United States. This video is from the Carl E. Sanders Papers, Audiovisual Materials at the Richard B. Russell Library for Political Research and Studies, University of Georgia Libraries.
