The Chakma dance presented by the All India Chakma Students Union (AICSU) at the NeSt Fest (North East Students Festival) programme organized by NGO, My Home India in New Delhi on 22 October 2016. This is a song of Chakma Tribal community of North East india. The song "Ejo re jhummot jei, nuo jhum nuo jhum" describes the exhilarating experience of Chakma people's jhum life. Jhum is a form of rice cultivation in the hills practiced by Chakmas and most other tribals. The song says let's go to new jhum field, o men and women, let's cultivate the new jhum field singing songs in merriment holding our traditional daos... Together men and women let's cultivate the jhum field. The song describes the entire jhum cycle from cultivation up to harvesting and the enjoyment of life by Chakmas in the process of jhum cultivation.
