vue - AirTractor 402 Agricultural Flying
The New Zealand agriculture industry relies heavily on the aerial application of fertilisers and other sprays. This video shows the skills of one of New Zealand's top ag pilots, as seen at the Classic Fighters 2005 airshow in Blenheim. The Air Tractor AT-400 is a family of agricultural aircraft that first flew in the United States on September 1979. Type certification was awarded to Air Tractor in April 1980. Of low-wing monoplane taildragger configuration, they carry a chemical hopper between the engine firewall and the cockpit. -- http://www.aviationfilm.com Copyright © 2005 Historical Aviation Film Unit This video material may not be reproduced in any form (except as an embedded video on any other website), without the written permission of the Historical Aviation Film Unit.

Tell him, not to forget the unseen & unknown.

may be a great pilot but being reckless in my opinion if he flies like this on the job (which I doubt) it is only a matter of time before he is a statistic, I hope he was just show boating for the crowd and cameras a mere few inches away from a disaster

My first impression of this video was that this chap but just a bit reckless, actually. His wingtips were awfully close to the ground. Doesn't take much of a screw up to ruin your whole day. I don't know anything about the man and his qualifications, but he was scarey to me.

No, PT6A-15AG or PT6A-34AG

Now I wanna become a farmer...

Speaking as an experienced past Ag Pilot from a few decades ago, it's dirty, usually hot, and very boring.
-
true, he didn't scrape the wingtips but he did scrape the manifold support. Was a little bit reckless, you must admit.
-
not feathered. Beta range or reverse thrust.
-
+1 Doing my Tigermoth rating with him shortly. Great pilot.

I can guarantee you John is a very capable pilot and displays this, along with other aircraft (including WW1 and 2 aircraft) for a living. And yes, he is still alive as of yesterday!
