The lives of the people of Karamoja have been transformed through the European Union funded Karamoja Livelihoods Programme. This week we take a look at the Northern Uganda Agricultural Livelihoods Recovery Programme (ALREP). It is a 68 billion shilling programme funded by the European Union and implemented by the Office of the Prime Minister in fifteen districts in Acholi, Lango and Teso. It was started four years ago to help Internally Displaced People to rediscover and kick start agricultural production on their formerly abandoned land.
