vue - Analyzing Value Chains to Enhance the Nutritional Impact of Agricultural Interventions

With support from USAID Feed the Future program, the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition and the Institute of Development Studies developed a project design tool which specifically places a nutritional lens on agricultural programs. Consisting of a detailed survey decision tree tool, it identifies opportunities where the nutritional benefits of agricultural interventions can be improved by addressing constraints at various levels of the value chain. It also encourages collaboration between the agriculture and nutrition sectors as well as the public and private sectors. The tool is designed to be used as a guide for new agricultural programs, and also to highlight ways in which existing programs might be refocused towards enhanced nutritional impacts.
