vue - Bitter Melon (Gourd)--Season Begins
Finally, my bitter melon plants begin to show sign of growth after a very slow start. Bitter melon are heat loving plants; they thrive in the Summer heat. Once they settle and begin to grow, they will cover a trellis in no time. I added an extra 5ft by 6ft of trellis space. I also transplanted several plants to ensure they have adequate space. I expect the plants to cover the entire trellis within 2 -3 weeks time.

Do you get any powdery mildew or any kind of pests and diseases on your plants. If so, how do you deal with it and/or prevent it?

My mother said you need at least two plants when growing bitter melon. Is that true?
