A flowering shrub native to China but now cultivated in many parts temperate and sub-tropical, Asia, Europe, Australia and the Americas. Its extensive cultivation has led to various cultivar being produced of this species, many of which have been recognised with scientific names. As Bonsai they make lovely Medium to large Bonsai, and they takes naturally to a vase shape. Styles: Informal Upright, Slanting, Cascade, Semi-cascade, Broom, Clump Location: Outdoor Position: Prefers a full sun position especially if you are looking for good flowering. Can grow comfortably in semi-shade too. Watering: Needs a moist soil so do not allow to dry out, otherwise you are likely to have both leaf and flower buds drop.
