Shimla Mirch is a cultivar group of the species Capsicum annuum (chili pepper), very favourable to the climatic conditions of Shimla - the capital of Himachal Pradesh. Shimla Mirch, accordinng to Wikipedia is also known as Bell Pepper or Sweet Pepper. Capsicum is a cool season crop and is planted from the season of February up to May/June in the hills and cooler climates. It is a profitable crop and yields higher when cultivated under Greenhouse Effect or in shade houses. Various Capsicum varieties are also available in the market.
