vue - Cashew Nut Trees of Devi Math in Ghatsila, Jharkhand State of India
I have visited Devi Math on 13.04.2009. In the early morning, I was strolling beneath those cashew nut trees and found the trees full of cashew nuts and the surrounding was quite amazing with sweet smell of cashew nut fruits. So I grabbed my Motorola L9 mobile video camera to capture the heavenly representation of the Nature. From Ghatsila towards Jamshedpur through NH the entire area along the adjacent hills and foothills have lot of potentiality to grow Cashew nut which may bring some economic relief to the sons of the soil of Jharkhand. I have taken this video in the orchard of Devi Math near Phoolpal Crossing, Bankati adjacent to NH34. The Math is organized by a Hindu Sannyasini Provajika Shraddhamoyee Mataji. She established a school under both ICSE & Hindi curricula named Ramakrishna Vivekananda Sarada Vidyapith inside the orchard along with other social activities. She is directly involved in these activities since 15 years despite facing financial obstacles. If anybody wish to help in cash and kind then please contact:- shraddhamoyee.m@gmail.com

If you have temperate climate in your area, from 3/4 full grown trees you will get 3/4 kg of nuts per year. Enough isn't it? Stay out of extra calories.

This is so bizarre! I honestly thought cashews grew in pods. Cashews are allot more expensive here and perhaps this is the reason why, one cashew per fruit. What is the fruit like? Is it used for anything at all? Thank you for this informative video

sorry for the delay. Why not, eastern part of India is more like yours so try to grow them oh what a taste.

Thanks for watching the video. This is my Yaaammi nut and hopefully you will also like the taste..........

yes only 1 nut per fruit but you also have the fruit to make juice with as well. the natural world is wonderful, its a 2 for 1 deal...!!!!

@manman4092, Yes why not ? Just to watch, Not much rain water is being be dumped near those trees a bit dry land is good for growing those trees even in eroded soil is enough, at least, that was my observation when the eastern part of India is concerned including the coastal part. So my dear friend, would like to have a go in ur area ? Oh the Yammmmmi nut !!!!!!

What you are referring to as Cashew fruit is not a fruit at all. There is nothing like cashew nut. The so called nut is the fruit. The so-called cashew fruit is actually the 'extended stem'This fruit is botanically very complicated. Those not knowing botany are easily confused by it.

Yes, that is the rule of the nature and don't worry one tree (3 to 4 years old) can produce nearly 3 to 4 kg. of nuts. you should watch the video, those trees are young and not scientifically cropped. So imagine...........
