the country has become the dumping ground for ppl who wants to get rich and the government is now also a profit making entity! No one cares.
And yes it is bcos Msian are indifferent. This video is very timely. -
I missed the chance to make money out of "Global warming" wave (Al Gore). Please continue to scare people using your "imagine" talk, I will try and milk this cow. Thanks for the great money making idea, keep up the good work.
Happy that this time Asian is doing the "fear" talk instead of White man! -
I believed the problem not only on pesticide but the main cause for all kind of diseases start when our baby is jab with immunisation. that is the real cause. chk thoroughly if u dont believe me. the immunisation is the rea factor that make us prone to sickness and diseases.

Awesome work guys. I've been planning to grow my own vegetables as a safe way to get healthy. It's true that if you eat too much vegetables from the market you'll get sick. This happens to my sister and till today she and her children have low immune system. I believe the present illnesses including cancer is partly due to the pesticides & all the chemicals injected in our food. I like the idea that we work together with the community. Thank you so much for the initiative. It's God send. Looking forward to meet you guys and to start this great work.

Really? To full fill your agenda and sell your idea, this is the way to attack other? You can do better, "DR"! Shame on you! And tedx is a platform on sharing idea or to selling product?

Thank you for making more people to aware of Healthy veggie and food. Yes, I heard that too that too many farmers are not eating the veggie that they planted. Thank you for telling us the Truth, The Truth is hard for all the Accept it as too many like L.L prefers to RESPECT and hide all under their carpets ! Talk only sweet things, No Negative talking. Now I remember my late mom did said that our old friend married to a farmer in Cameron Highlands, she suffered alot -- sickness, and she wanted to stay away from Cameron Highlands as too much chemicals were used there as her husband family also one of the farmers. Yes, too many farmers are using unknown chemicals when someone sells to them. To them, Cheap-- the price of the unknown chemical is cheap and Good -- good is the result that they used it. Die ? You die better than I die -- no income ! God Bless you all.

The picture painted by the speakers is inaccurate. A former Malaysian Director of Pesticide Control said the Malaysian Department works closely with AVA S'pore to monitor the pesticide level. Singapore Authority is not so naive to allow unsafe vegetables full of pesticides to enter Singapore.Don't believe these guys that Malaysian vegetables are full of pesticides. Very unfair to Malaysian farmers. By all means promote whatever products or projects you have, but I hope these 2 guys don't make untrue remarks on Malaysian farmers and agriculture produce. As a medical doctor, he should back up his claims with facts and figures , not just hearsay.

Yes, Malaysia has illegal pesticides. But it is NOT accurate to say "out of 10 kai lans in Malaysia, 4 are dangerous" at all. The 2012 study has only a total of only 102 samples, and that is whatever was tried to be exported to Europe. Most likely, it's peppers and aubergines, as per the 2014 study. The rest of the many vegetables is inconclusive. Yes, we should be vigilant about pesticides, it is bad for our health, but let's be accurate not use scaremongering to bolster points. Could have instead just focused on the bad effects of pesticides and left out the dubious statistics, and also false anecdote about Singapore allowing pesticide-laden product to be imported.

Only source that "200 tons of veggies entering Singapore" are full of pesticides, is verbally from an unnamed "Datuk"? Singapore tests for over 400 pesticides daily. SOURCE: http://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/3-5-of-veggies-fruit-exceeded-pesticide-limits

The speaker above suggested we google. And I did.
I cannot find any details on the EFSA (not erroneously EUFSA as in the video above) about Malaysia being the top. Conversely, I found articles saying the Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority does conduct stringent checks, and actually destroys vegetables that are contaminated. This video is very suspicious.
Can you please provide a source? This seems to overly-scare consumers and promote their farm -
Please check with AVA, Singapore on this claim... Please check your facts.. Thanks

supply and demand. are you going to buy a vegetable with lots of holes? or you going to buy an organic vegetable that's is double or triple the price of non organic vegetable? Go and educate the consumer, don't buy the vegetable as if you are buying an iPhone. Common sense. if the farmer vegetable cannot be sold due to damage from insects, then will he continue to grow for you to eat?

i lived in shanghai sometimes ago....its quite frequent to see...sayur and fruits 'made in/singapore produce'... got any ideas on this?
-
So where can I get such vegetables in Singapore? Please pray tell. Thank you.

kementerian kesihatan malaysia has highlighted this issue in late 1990 and CAP penang has highlighted this 10 years earlier.
unfortunately vegetable growers cannot do without these toxic pesticides. reason being presence of resistant bugs and expensive alternative pesticides.
solution? on national scale food production? nothing. on small scale? various ways. -
