Growing regional demands of agricultural products surges pressure to extend and intensify the crop production. It thus simplifies agricultural landscapes in mono-cropping in the Cambodian uplands increasing the vulnerability of small-scale farming to economic fluctuations and climate uncertainties. The film underlines the constraints and potentials of Direct seeding Mulch based Cropping systems (DMC), part of Conservation Agriculture family that combines soil tillage cancellation and integrating cover crops for high biomass inputs to build soil resiliency, as best alternatives for farmer’s practices of intensive soil tillage and mono-cropping in two contrasted agro-ecosystems in Cambodia.
