The end product will taste like plastic with some sugar in it, but we will have better pills to counter the downsides.

We don't "have" to feed 9 billions people. Those parasite have to stop reproducing or suffer a Malthusian trap like they deserve. Automation of agriculture is a good thing for the west by getting rid of cheap third world labor, reduce our importations and improve our independence.
