vue - Dame Ellen MacArthur: The surprising thing I learned sailing solo around the world
What do you learn when you sail around the world on your own? When solo sailor Ellen MacArthur circled the globe – carrying everything she needed with her – she came back with new insight into the way the world works, as a place of interlocking cycles and finite resources, where the decisions we make today affect what's left for tomorrow. She proposes a bold new way to see the world's economic systems: not as linear, but as circular, where everything comes around. Circular economy will not solve our problems if we keep increasing our population at the same rate. Humans will destroy the world when we deplete all the resources.

Even if she did what she said she did, she did not "sail around the globe" or "circumnavigate the earth". She sailed down one side of the earth, around Antarctica, and back up the same side of the earth. What she did was an extended transatlantic trip, which is no small feat. Her trip took extraordinary skill, courage, and character... but that doesn't change the fact she did NOT "sail nonstop around the globe". She just didn't.

How come there isn't any proof of her sailing around the world? were supposed to believe it because she's a woman?

Great video with an even better idea. Unfortunately, for this to work, education, along with everything else across the board in our society would have to be equal. All people would have to work together for a common goal. We would need to teach people to value honesty, education and cooperation for humanity. Most people agree and love this idea, but do nothing to make it happen. Much like faith, going to church once a week is enough to give someone the reinforcement that they are a good person. They will then continue their crappy behavior for the rest of the week. People have always created and will always create a system that is best suited for us as a whole. There is no escaping the behavior that is hard wired into our DNA.

Lukewarm reception. Seems like a lot of obvious statements about sustainablility from a very self indulgent person.

Engines can already be Re-manufactured, Problem is its cheaper and easier to buy a new one,Circuit boards are also salvaged for valuable materials, Same problem cheaper and easier to make a new one.
