Beyond its physical, and economic benefits, Sport has long been used as a platform for social change; and even as a tool for peace and development. It’s in this context that Farm Concern International sponsored the 2015 edition of The Embu Open Youth Sports Tournament, an annual event that provides students and other organised youth groups in the region an opportunity to compete in sports and learn more about agriculture. The two day event involved various sporting activities like soccer, rugby, basketball, hockey, volleyball, handball, netball, rackets and attracted more 6,500 students and other youth in the region with the aim of opening their eyes to a land of opportunity… agriculture!
