vue - Exploring Indian Agriculture: Soil Health
"Out of the 140 million farms in India, only 10% have ever done soil health testing. This is like saying only 10% of our population has ever gone to a doctor." Understanding the composition of their soil helps farmers plant, fertilize, and irrigate with greater efficiency--something that can make all the difference for the millions of small-acreage landholders in India. The Tata Center Agriculture Team is studying soil health as a key issue in India's farming ecosystem, and developing solutions that will make soil testing accessible to many of these farmers for the first time. May I have some contact with You from Mexico? I was an alumni of MIT's MISTI-GSL program the past year, and I'm working in the same path, making agriculture sensing and soil testing accessible for coffee smallholders using some techniques of UX design and open source elements for automation.
