For private viewing. This was part of the video made for the iPURSE 2014 event (the international Annual Research Sessions of the University of Peradeniya). This provides a basic introduction to the University and its vistas placed in the context of Hantana legends and dreams; the first cover by Pandith Amaradewa and young Umaria epitomizes these legends/dreams; the two covers by Karunesh celebrates the cultural and academic diversity represented by the University of Peradeniya. Hope this work will rekindle the dreams of Peradeniya Graduates world over, reminisce Hantana legends and inspire them to do their best. Visit us at http://www.pdn.ac.lk Shorter version of the video is available at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3CjmfHf3gZ4 Graduate students, especially Nayana Wijethilaka & Gayani Senevirathne contributed magnificently in making this. Evolutionary Ecology and Systematics (EES) Lab, University of Peradeniya. http://www.frogsl.org When we made this film (with my three graduate students), I wanted it to evoke long subdued emotions in all students of University of Peradeniya ( University of Peradeniya Aaup Peradeniya). Significantly, due to several reasons, I was privileged to literally live on-campus all my life and I always wanted to see the campus from above, as our campus architect late Mr Shirley De Alwis would have imagined. I was pleasantly surprised to see a gentleman, Mr. RC. Ranatunga, from the first batch at UoP (he had entered the campus in 1953) had written to a newspaper in Sri Lanka, which I share with you here...http://www.ft.lk/?s=Legends+and+Dreams+of+Hantane it basically gives a silent script to our un-narrated movie.....
