German Agriculture Minister Christian Schmidt held a joint press conference in Berlin, Monday, with his French counterpart Stephane Le Foll and Polish Agriculture Minister Marek Sawicki to call on the European Union (EU) to do more to combat crashing prices for agricultural products. The press conference was held exactly one week before EU agriculture ministers are set to gather in Brussels for an extraordinary meeting of the EU Agriculture Council to discuss the growing concerns over economic situation in the diary and livestock sectors.
