vue - Ginger & Turmeric Cultivation in Darjeeling Hills (04.04.2014)

Ginger is an important spices crop in Darjeeling Hills. Darjeeling is the leading district in West Bengal in respect of cultivated area, productivity & production as congenial climatic condition and soils in hills favour for production of quality ginger. Presently infestation of several diseases mainly soft rot disease is the major constraint for ginger cultivation. The crop is traditionally cultivated in the hills. Therefore, scientific package of practices should be followed for successful cultivation of the crop in hills.
