vue - Grow Mushrooms on Logs Using Mushroom Log Kit
How do I grow mushrooms? It's easy! You can use mushroom plug spawn to inoculate hardwood logs to grow mushrooms at home. This mushroom cultivation technique is simple, fun, and effective. Growing mushrooms on logs is like having a mushroom plant in your own mushroom garden!

Due to a lack of space I would like to make a tower of beech logs. The initial idea is to grow shiitake on all of the logs (8 layers of two logs). Though as I need to order dowels anyway, I thought I might make a mix with Oysters and my own pioppino mushrooms (6x shiitake, 6x blue oyster, 4x pioppino). Do you think this would work on one tower or would those compete too much? If not I can make two towers (shiitake and oyster), but if possible I'd like to stick with one. It's just a hell of a waste effort if I have to find out after a year that they all fail to produce.

If you have a place to store logs where they will not freeze you can start them in the fall. Otherwise, wait till spring.

Is it okay to start the plugs during Fall? Or is it best to start them in the spring/summer?

Hi, my names Henry and I live in Southern California Desert. The most common trees that are available for logs in my area come from Mesquite and Indian Loral (ficus). Would these be okay to grow mushrooms on? What trees should I stay away from? I don't want to get sick. I really like this channel by the way, its really cool. Thanks.
