vue - Grow the BEST Spring Garlic With This Super Simple Method
We get asked all the time about how to grow the best garlic. We have a growing guide for that: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MrH91NNH4Xk But it does not explain what to do for spring garlic. The garlic bulbs require a stratification period to multiply well, and without it your garlic will be small and spindly. The soil in the bags helps to draw energy away from the bulbs so that they do not freeze themselves. Too cold and you will end up with mush. .99 Heirloom Vegetable Seeds: http://www.migardener.com/store ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MIgardener Website http://www.MIgardener.com Join the fun on facebook @ http://www.facebook.com/MIgardener +1 me on Google+ @ http://www.google.com/+MIgardener Pin us on Pinterest @ http://www.pinterest.com/MIgardenerYT Follow the fun on twitter @ http://www.twitter.com/MI_Gardener Come tumble with us @ www.MIgardener.tumblr.com

thx mate. I live in sub tropical Queensland (Australia) and I have been trying to find out how to grow garlic, but there is no information for growing garlic over here... Now I know why and I will try your method.

I am not a gardener, I wish I was. after 3 to 4 weeks in the freezer when you take it out I will have garlic? I am not sure what is next after you freeze it. I just might be able to grow something for a change. If you could let me know about what I asked I would really appreciate it GREATLY. I cook and use a ton of garlic in most of my dishes and I could grow it, that would be a huge help.

I assume this would be a great away to simulate winter for any bulbs that requires a cold period. :D

Hi Luke. Great vid. Do you think I can grow garlic in the tropics?
-
Well, well... Simple stratification sounds super! Looks like little work, but betcha brings big yields... That's some thinking, Luke! 😉

my garlic seems to have failed miserably. I plants in containers, the ground froze for a few weeks and i harvested and some rotted in the thawing. Im going to try again this year. SO in ground or containers?

I'm definitely going to do this! Luke! I'm so excited! I started my tomatoes and peppers, and my son and his roommates are so excited that I'm giving them some veggie plants. My son asked for potatoes and carrots, and the roomies will take anything I give them. Good thing they live in town! Wait till they hear about seed saving!

Aye Luke I live in Gilroy, CA the "garlic capital of the world". Good idea with the freezer bag!

Luke,
I just put the whole bulb in a brown paper bag in December, then I put the bulbs in the crisper drawer of the refrigerator. Temp. around freezing. I have already planted the cloves about 2 weeks ago. How do you think they will do? I am North of Kansas City and we have been having exceptionally warm weather. The dirt was loose and soft.
Thanks Steve
