Thanks very much! So much easier then fridge technique..."set it and forget it!"
Nice tip on 6" and screen and rocks. Never occurred to me to grow them practically on top of each other, then separate the following fall. You might get taller seeding growth if they have more room to grow in that first year BUT at expense of your time/effort to space them out or grow in pots that can dry out pretty easily here in Georgia or get raided by ravenous squirrels. -
I thought walnuts grow trees

This video was taken in late October in Maine.

are you in Spring or Fall?

Do you remove the hauls first before planting?
-
Great video! Do you put the seeds in the refrigerator before you put them in the ground?

Wow, thats cool! Why do you plant so many in the same hole? Is that because most of them will not germinate? Do you know the germination rate for these nuts? I am planning to grow a tonne of black walnuts over a 50 acre lot that I hope to buy soon. I would like to have over a 1000 trees some day. So do you plant the same seeds in the same season that you harvest them or do you keep them for over a year to dry out first? Oh one last question, how many black walnut trees have you successfully grown? Thanks!
