vue - Herbicide Ballistic Technology demonstration

Dr. James Leary (UH CTAHR) demonstrates his newly developed Herbicide Ballistic Technology (HBT), a safe herbicide delivery system that decreases the amount of herbicide used in the environment by enhancing precision of herbicide deployment. HBT allows small amounts of herbicide to be delivered directly to invasive plants in areas that are too steep to be reached on foot. In this demo, Dr. Leary targets invasive miconia plants on a steep hillside in east Maui. The dosage of herbicide in each projectile is non-lethal, which is why multiple projectiles are required for each individual.
