Bad video . sorry

terrible video

SHOULD'T YOU BE CHECKING FOR A FREON LEAK BEFORE YOU RECHARGE THE SYSTEM ?? ARE THERE DIFFERENT TYPES OF FREON ??
-
A 15-20 spread on H/L side works for me ALL the time in a pinch! Having a spare manifold guage set is NOT something that many service service tech's have privy to, so you do what you gotta do.
Gets the unit running in a heat wave.
Besides...if you gotta charge a system up, and put in a TON OF GAS, you / customer have bigger problems. -
I've been working on a 22 unit apt complex here in Los Angeles. Perfect timing too, just before the "big heat wave" they're predicting for this weekend, huh?! My expertise is plumbing, but AC work is in my wheelhouse of knowledge. I've been watching various "how to" videos on AC stuff, and on nearly every one I get a piece of valuable info. This one is no different. Your comment about charging with vapor vs liquid was helpful.
I know that Palm Springs area well. spent all of winter and spring of last year driving back and forth to Palm Desert doing remodeling work on a mobile home. In fact, my friend (the owner) is there now. He's selling it and has a potential buyer. He drove there to make sure everything was working and noticed the heater wasn't working. He called me to help diagnose. Turns out it was the on/off switch at the top of the vintage unit. Strangest call I've had in a long while - a heat related call during the summer in Palm Desert! Trim your palm trees. -
I think you did a great job.. I do not understand people making negative comments like I see below, but my opinion is that you really did good. At least you are trying to help and letting us see how to do this.. Where is theirs? Nuf said.

Wow, this is really a very very bad video. Your camera is moving around and very little of it is showing you the important stuff. You actually left the video on while you went down stairs to turn on the system, then you show us how bad your pressure gauges are. My My, could it get any worse!

nice kung fu!!!!

Okay video but where is reading for sub cooling and and superheat reading if it a fixed orifice use superheat to charge unit yes you could overcharge system and this why we need better training skilled technicians . I hoping that you go back to that call and check for leaks on the A/C unit

Thanks for taking the time & making the video
-
I've been reading a lot on this and what I've commonly seen is that you should introduce freon slowly to the system. I noticed you didn't do this is this because of the type of refrigerant you're using or is it a negligible precaution.

No offense, but this is a terrible video.
-
how do we know if it is a capillary tubes?
-
question......How do you charge the system, in the winter time. I had a hvac man come out and checked my mini spilt system in the winter time and he said it was low on gas (410a) but he could not recharge becaue of the cold weather. is he right...
-
Damn that thing's loud.
-
You've seen 127 degrees out there? !!!!!!!! ! My god man it gets hot out there!
Its beautiful though thanks for the extra scenery.
Have you ever heard of charging from the high side with the system off? -
I like your re-charge video. Question: the copper line your putting your hands on to feel it getting colder is the line that's going back to the evaporator coil (unit a top of the heater) correct? In other words that cold copper line is the output from the condenser. Thank you.

And put youe adds in the corner.
