Thanks Lyn. As you know I recently received some cuttings. The big box store has a bag of cactus potting mix. Sound good to you? Thanks again. Best wishes Bob.

I got given a really big cactus cutting (nearly 2 foot long) Orchid cactus an Im not sure if I should plant it yet. It really is massive, any advice?

I have grown some dragon fruit. I put one in a pot and was gone most of the year. It was on the corner of the house. It is now about 13 feet in length and hanging from the eaves. It has a bud on it now. I will wait until after Summer to take cuttings from it. I have found that hardening for about two to three weeks is sufficient for mine. I have planted in clean sand and potting soil mix with good results. Eventually, I will plant several in my back yard. Also, some commenting here may want to check the ph of their soil. You can get more information from ECHO in Fort Myers on growing this and other tropical plants.

I have a cutting on its way,,,,is it better to use a small container? or can I use a large container and let it grow to size in there?

It's always so nice to watch your videos. Your advice to let it callous over is probably the most important thing before planting it. It's nice to know. I had no idea it can take that long to callous. Could you make an update video when the cactus has started to develop roots? Thanks. :) I have a question that has nothing to do with this, but it came to mind while I was watching this. Have you ever tried grafting cacti? And what do you think about those cacti that are sold in garden centers, that the bottom (green) part is from one species, and the top (usually colorful, red, yellow, or pink) is a different species? Many hugs from Finland, and have a great evening! :)

You are so lucky to be able to give and receive cacti!! I would adore to be able to get some cuttings from your collection but my collection isn't big enough for swaps and it won't be getting big anytime soon due to the shortage of garden centres selling cacti :( great vid!! Love all your videos!

Great video. I am looking at that cutting and wondering if one of the Spanish cuttings I was sent is hylocereus! Thank you for the information :)))

Hello! Can you send me please sometimes the earth composition for Epiphyllum cacti? Many thanks and lots of love from Germany
-
my hylocereus undatus is yellowing all of the leaves but still some are green incase it dies I took a cutting that is now growing in better soil I think the problem was in the soil because my lithops only has one new living rock I had a cactus that I changed into a better soil and pot and it is doing well
