It's a great tutorial, but it's worth noting that from seed, an avocado will take up to 10 years to produce decent tasting fruit. The trees that are for purchase are grafted for better tasting results and quicker harvesting, 3-4 years. In the U.S. avocados are produced in California, Florida, Puerto Rico, Hawaii, and Texas, they are a tropical/subtropical fruit.

I'm curious...when did you harvest the avocados from the 6 ft. tree? Did you plant it into the ground outdoors or did you "keep" it in a planter? Do the avocado plant require a lot of sunshine while it is still growing in the home?
-
Did you peel it with a "peeler or knife"....or did you peel it with your finger nails?

Thank you for your tutorial it was very helpful! I just started my first avocado 🥑 seed so hopefully it works! I noticed you mentioned that your almond seeds were molding, have you tried a root growth hormone? It helps prevent root rot and might be helpful!

when would you plant it?
-
when did the plant start growing the leaves
-
ah, thank you for this! i'm so excited to grow mine!

Doesn't it take over 5 years for it to fruit after planting in the ground? Thats a long time!?

This was an awesome video. I purchased an avacado today but I have to ripen it first. To begin growing the plant, does it require direct or indirect sunlight? Also how long do I leave it in water before I can put it in soil? Thanks in advance

Do you have to keep the top part of the seed moist?

Found this video in mid summer and tried it. I wanted to say I did everything he said and my avocado is now potted in soil and about 6 inches tall. It stopped growing for months at about 4 inches tall until I cut off 2 leaves and the thing grew an additional 2 inches in 2 weeks over a snowy Canadian Christmas. My avocado is in door in a 6 inch diameter self watering plant places beside a heat register but facing out the window. I used potting soil and a bit of miracle grow. I water it often because the soil dries up fast due to the heater. Hope this helps.

Just about perfect!
-
it works thank man👍
-
so at which point do you actually plant it, in the ground?
-
How long did the whole process take?
Did you change water every day?
Thank you -
do you ever change the water? if so, how often.

Thanks for this helpful video. Can I do this if my avocado pit is from a couple weeks ago? I've had it sitting on my counter and haven't had time to research how to grow it until now.

Thank you!

My wife pulled the seeds on the firs two plants I'll try to grow from seed. I am not certain I have the orientation correct on them or not at this point, as I didn't see them prior to her handing them to me. I'll check the progress daily, so if I put them in wrong, perhaps I can change this quick enough that they won't be a loss.
My question is can these seeds be soaked overnight so that the shell of them is much easier to remove than it is by simply wiping them off and then peeling the shell skin away as you show in your video? I don't have long fingernails and removing the skin on the seed was a real pain for me when I did the first two seeds I am starting with.
Thanks for the video. -
Is it needs the land or just stay inside water until growing up ?
