you can also just lay those sections you cut to plant flat in a bucket cover half way with water and they will sprout nice to.

Please some one get back to me if you can but, what are the conditions on growing sugarcane in Pennsylvania? Because winters can get to -10 to -12 degrees Fahrenheit and summers can get to 98 degrees Fahrenheit and not that humid but an okay humidity. Can black sugarcane or red sugarcane still grow in the ground or will it have to grow in pots?

They sell sugar cane at the local Bravo supermarket in my town. Can you plant sections of store bought cane or would I be wasting my time/money?
