I was hoping to see the progress on the pear tree.

Thank you for all your tips. I had earlier tried some cuttings from rose bushes & put in MILK gallon container & put in sun. It grew roots & so were lots of these white thins. I was expecting them to grow leaves etc but after some time it just rotted (grew fungus).
I learned it good. Thank you. -
use willow leaves and stems crushed in the water it's a natural rooting hormone

Great video, can you do this with any fruit tree? In particular haas avocado?
-
If we do same with apple does it needs grafting?
-
I tried this method numerous times and it didn't work for me. The cuttings would sprout leaves in a couple of weeks and appeared to be growing well when suddenly they would be overcome by mold and then die. I have tried this about 6 or 7 times and ended up with the same results.

Are the cuttings expected to live as long as plants grown from seed?

Thanks for the tips. I am going to try this with some starfruit cuttings and maybe some other types.

What part of the yr, can we do this. What season. Arkansas here. November

Rick - have you ever tried this method with an avocado tree? I have two trees that have become a little "leggy" and I thought when I trim them I might try this stem rooting. Thank you for the video - really enjoyed it.

Is there a preferred time of the year to do cuttings? I live in the upper Midwest. Is it better to do this in the warm months or in the colder months when the trees go dormant?

ARE THE FIGS U WERE EATING, WERE THEY FROM CUTTINGS??
-
nice idea sir! May I ask do that cuttings give fruit in a container?

Great Vid, thanks for sharing. Question. With Apple/Pear, with normal grafts, if the graft takes root above the graft line the tree will turn into "Wild" fruits. So the question is, with the way you are doing this, will the shoots you plant after rooting, do they actually produce the fruit that was on the host tree or is it fruit of an unknown variety?

Hi Rick, Thanks for showing this,.. We have several apple trees in our yard that only grows those little knotty apples, you know the kind that aren't even worth the time to deal with,.. So we were thinking about doing this with some of the cutting from them and also our plum tree,.. We have a beautiful plum tree, but they get plums and then they disappear overnight it seams,.. Never got a plum from it, And the peach trees have done fairly well this year, so we'll probable do the same with those,.. It is too late to do this now, in October ?? Thanks for your time,.. :) Love your video,..
