vue - How to Hand pollinate Bitter Gourd & other Plant for more fruit yield
Balcony Garden - Bitter Gourd How to Hand Pollinate Bitter Gourd - Easy Step by step technique for Gardening enthusiast and beginners. People growing Vegetables in Cities miss pollination done by Bees and other insects in male and female flowers resulting in their dropping off with no fruits formation. But with hand pollination you can achieve good fruit yield and it is real easy too. First step in Hand Pollination of Bitter Gourd and similar plants like Bottle Gourd, Cucumber etc having both male and female flowers is to recognize and differentiate between the male and female flowers. Next Step is to pluck a healthy male flower and fold it petal back to expose it yellow color male reproductive parts known as "Stamen" Don't worry if its petal break off in the process Use the plucked male plant to rub its pollen found on yellow colour Stemen to the sticky female green color part called "Stigma" Gently rub Yellow Stemen to Green Stigma inside out so that Pollen from male Stemen get transferred to female flower Stigma. Take care not to break Stigma in the process. Hand Pollination can do wonders to fruit yield in places where Bees or insects or not present to do the pollination in natural way.
