vue - How to make AMAZING aquarium root tabs
Hey guys just showing the most common way people make root tabs for their tank. There are other ways but this way seems to work best. I sometimes use these and sometimes I use the API tabs. Both work well.

hi I never use root tab before. 2 questions. 1. how to place root tab? just place it next to the plant root with capsule? or without the capsule?2. If you place with capsule do you need to take the old capsule out when you replace new tab?

I had put two gelatin capsules into my substrate but I believe it wasn't deep enough causing one of them to expand out of the substrate. The capsule itself is a brownish jelly thing and I can see the fertilizer above the substrate. Is this dangerous? i attempted to shove everything under again. I have no fish yet since im trying to cycle the tank. The gelatin capsule fell a part when i disturbed it ( now drifting around the tank) should i net it out?

hi there,
can I use this for tropical water level lilies? many thanks to share. -
Just setting up my 300 lt tank sand only, was considering cat litter under sand, but changed mind, Ive got the capsules and some food i`ll give it a go

One question: do gelatin capsules dissolve in water too? im concerned about removing the empty capsules, what if you forgot where you placed it?

Hey man I forgot to thank you for this video. I use the exact tabs you're showing here. I also have Eco-Complete substrate capped with a 1/2" to an 1" of Pool Filter Sand/Silica Sand. Works a treat so just to say thanks as i still have a million tabs to make with the Miracle grow. Plants are doing great. Cheers.

Do not use this method its not worth the hassle when your ammonia levels go sky high

Do i need the see trough type?

Don't most fertilizers that aren't for aquatic plants have NPK in them?
NPK can really stress your fish.. -
I have a gravel substrate. Will the ammonia leach into my water column?
-
After inserting some of these gel tabs with miracle gro yest the water today is all cloudy today!

Just ordered some if these last week. Looking at them I thought the granules looked familiar I have a big tub of them in my shed. Oh well now I know for future. Think I'll order some capsules and make my own next time. Thanks for sharing this.

What tank do you have ? Would root tabs be a good alternative to plant substrate ?

QUESTION!! WHAT HAPPENS TO THE FERTILIZER AFTER THEY NO LONGER FEED THE PLANTS? DO YOU HAVE TO PICK OUT OF THE SUB? OR DOES IT DISAPPEAR?

Hello, recently came across your video and am interested in trying this method. However, I do have some concerns and have been looking through various forums without finding an answer....
Is this method safe with fish? How about pleccy's? I know it's a DIY method so I wouldn't want there to be a morning I wake up and find all my fish deceased.
I did compare the content in the DIY method (osmocote+ etc) to normal over the counter root tabs. The DIY fertilizer contents are WAY more than the OTC products. Just didn't want this to have some sort of adverse or negative affect.
Thanks for your help..
