I tried apple picking as a job about 40 years ago. It sucked. It was very hot and we were paid by the bushel. I forget, but I think we were paid .40 cents a bushel or something like that. The regular employees were pretty fast but the new guys like me could pick about 3 bushels per hour. This was in southern Ontario.

8 to 10 Yrs for big varieties!!! Wow that's a lot of time and no wonder why apples are a bit expensive. Thanks for replying.

apple trees can grow upto 25 feet and can live upto 60 years and fruit bearing depends on kind of variety u have some small varities bear at 3 years some medium bear at 6 and big varities bear at 8 to 10 and they have a particular season of bearing starting from july to august and till mid september
