I have a suggestion. I save my tomato seeds and what I do with the wet seeds is I spread them on paper plates and it seemed to work a bit better than paper towels. Thank you for sharing how to save eggplant seeds!

Great video!
I just want to ask: do you have any advice for getting these to grow? I tried a couple times and it never seems to germinate even though it should be hot enough outside. What could be missing? -
Do you have to dry them before they can germinate in soil? Or can you put them directly in?
-
How many plants did you achieve?
Thanks for sharing.
I never buy seeds. I just the the ones from the fruit and veg; lemon, green pepper, chili etc. -
your the coolest guy i watched, specially about saving the seeds, thank you so much. i hope you make more videos

Next time put a coffee filter on top of your paper towel. Seeds won't stick to it.

Thanks Rob. My son has grown out some Long purple eggplant fruit (he enjoys growing them more than eating them lol). Wanted to do some research before attempting seed saving with him. Your video was the first to come up in the search results. Wasn't sure whether to ferment the pulp or not (like tomato seeds). I like the way you did yours and will give it a shot this weekend.

easy and nice . thanks

So are normal eggplants from the store just to immature to use the seeds from? Or does it just decrease the chance of generation?
-
Thanks Rob, my first year actually saving seeds, with all the GMO's I am only doing Heirloom anymore
-
great tips thanks

I use a flat weave tea towel or piece of calico to dry most seeds. They can easily be scraped off if they stick a bit leaving them clean of paper plus the cloth can be washed and reused.

Nice one.. I just leave them on the plate now & they dry nicely.. Just need to move them around at the start so they don't stick.. Cheers & have a great one, Rob.

Hey rob, I've dried seeds on a glazed tile, they scrape off so easy

There are more than 100 ways to do a particular activity, however I will be happy to see you do things easier so that you have more time for us and your family. :)
