Higher temperatures and changes in monsoon patterns make Nepal one of the most climate-vulnerable countries in the world. At the same time, Nepal heavily relies on the agriculture sector as a means for employment and economic growth. In response to this challenge, beginning in 2013, IFC has worked with agribusiness firms in Nepal to make their supply chains more climate resilient through the promotion of improved agricultural and water management practices. IFC is also promoting the adoption of new technologies and practices among smallholder farmers, including women, to help them adapt to the negative effects of climate change. This video spotlights the project, which was supported by the Pilot Project for Climate Resilience (PPCR), and its impact on agribusiness companies and farmers in Nepal.
