vue - Is Hunting Better Than Factory Farming?
Is hunting more ethical or more humane than factory farming? Does killing your own meal have more “honor” than purchasing it at a grocery store? What is the ethical stance on these two methods of slaughter? And does the method by which an animal is killed affect the morality of their death? In this video, we take a hard look at this ethical quandary. Do living Vegetables have less rights than Animals?
-
How stupid? YES, let the wildlife starve to death.......would you like to starve to death slowly or be shot for a quick painless death? THIS is NO Myth, animals DO starve to death, why do wildlife clubs and farmers put out ROUND BAILS of HAY? For fun? They have extra? NO, to feed starving deer and moose over the winter.
Let`s touch on Bears, the spring hunt was stopped years ago by PETA, stupid move. They lost support of outfitters to trap and move problem bears to give them a chance at a bear life. Problems bears calls skyrocketed. There are more orphaned cubs then ever, bears are now really big RATS!
2016 there was a drought in areas and NO BLUEBERRIES this year, what will that do to cubs? They will DIE! Due to over population and lack of food, and a harsh winter, sows and cubs will die.
What good did stopping the spring hunt do? NOTHING! Do you have a chat? I would love to talk to you about these issues. -
So which one would you rather eat?
A vegetable that has been assaulted by antibiotics and fertilizers in a farm
Or an animal that was killed swiftly and spent most of its life happily in the wild away from humans? -
all your arguments are flawed. you are defending factory farming. seriously?
-25% since 1600, errrrrrrrrmmmm, back when people relied on hunting a natural farming AS their main source of food
-your saying that you would like to be, castrated, mutilated, force fed, crippled, and tortured, brtually handled in a short miserable and pointless existence than to be shot in the chest a few times, crawl around in pain for a minutes and put an end to a fufulling, natural life.
-hunting accounts for a few thousand dead animals, factory farming accounts for ten thousand a day.
-GUESS WHAT, THE PURPOSE OF DEER IS TO PROVIDE SUSTENANCE TO OTHERS!!!, ITS A BALANCE!! -
somebody get this lady a tree to hug

oh no :( she's retarded

Great comparison and YES I absolutely do think there is a large difference between hunting and factory farming. That difference is what has changed my diet to a plant based and harvest my own meat way of living. I respect vegans. They are far more food conscious than most people and have big hearts. Although I do know know of any vegans growing crops, planting trees, and improving habitat to help deer live healthy lives year round. Believe me when I say I spend more time thinking about deer than most any body. And with that I care just as much if not more about deer than vegans do. Good video, but I don't agree with your position.
-
"myth"? I don't think you know more about the deer population than any DNR employee.

The amount of people abstaining long term from a meat diet hovers around 4%. Why is that? Telling people to just give up or change a major part of their lifestyle is the same losing argument anti-abortion people use. We need comparably priced alternatives.
While lab grown meat is a major case where we'll be able to clearly draw an ethics win while keeping the tastes we want, genetic tech really freaks people out and at least today, only 20% of Americans say they'd even try that product!
"Genetic manipulation" is a very misleading to say. Just how it's important to distinguish natural selection breeding from mutagenesis, which uses radiation and is allowed under the organic label. Genetically modified animals have only JUST started to appear on the market. There are several in development, but around 3, if any at all, actually are sold.
The major problem with anti-meat eaters is...do you think nature is an assisted suicide center for animals?
Nature is cruel. There is starvation, getting eaten alive, ripped limb from limb, poisoned, diseased, etc.
Making some kind of "humans using tools is not natural!" argument for "proper hunting" is insanity. Our tool use is the main difference between us and animals. From spears to computers, we are not apes, and even they use some tools. -
Hello! :) I have a question for you. I think we all believe that its right to reduce pain amongst all sentient beings but how far do you think this goes? If we ever get advanced enough to be able to manipulate nature and ecosystems via for example genetic manipulation is it then right to change nature so it becomes less brutal? Should we change predatoric speicies to become herbivorse to reduce pain in nature? It may seem depressing to change the original nature but evolution is a blind force that creates life only for surviving wich means that it also produces brutality with suffering. Maybe we are making the animals a disservice by not doing anything if we would have the power to change nature and come closer to some earthly nirvana

Yes it is better

Wow, humans aren't natural hunters! What a lie. Hominoids have been eating meat for 1.5 million years. We have amazing brains and opposable thumbs that make us the most formidable predator on earth. We don't need fangs and claws because we are capable of making weapons and tools. We are able to use fire to cook. There are interesting papers about fire and human evolution. Another note, humans can consume raw meat just like our closest animal cousin, the chimps, do. Biologically, humans are omnivores. Humans are natural hunters.
Hunting and fishing can be ethical. Hunting and Fishing can be sustainable. Conservation programs are supported by hunting and fishing license and tag fees. Yes, humans have and will alter the forest to increase huntable areas. Look at pictures of Yosemite when the natives used fires to maintain the edge boundaries and created favorable conditions for the deer. These edge boundaries are beneficiary to other predators just not humans. -
This cunt has it all twisted. If you hunt your food you have to come face to face with the fact that you are eating another living thing, which is way more ethical than putting a smoke screen up and putting a processed piece of meat in your mouth. The very fact that living things naturally evolve to avoid being chased, hunted and consumed does mean that these 'animals' become aware that they must survive and adapt, so I don't buy that animals are stupid to that notion except when it comes to farming since farming is domestication, which kills off much of this instinct and leads to de-evolution. Also she says that 'we weren't meant for this', and I say, what the fuck do you know. Obviously there was a time when man hunted without tools, and ate his meat raw and the vestigial organs he still harbors are proof of this meaning we have had the carnivorous tendency for a great long while. Do we have to subsist purely on meat or on it at all? No of course not, but your argument is bullshite.
-
So try to cultivate your vegetables without tools and have Fun. Human use tools for everything.
Essayez de cultiver vos légumes sans outils ma chère, vous verrez que ce n'est pas évident. -
Hmm... catching, killing, eating animals with no tools... it has been done.. and can be done, however, if one were to use the argument of "no cooking," then eating raw, freshly-killed meat's nutrients, etc. are more readily absorbed by our body, unlike most plant matter (except maybe fruit), particularly starches, which we NEED to cook, otherwise we can't absorb their nutrients effectively.
That said, we are not the only animals who use tools to acquire/kill food. -
THIS is one of your finest! Convincing and darn entertaining. Thank you!

As soon as I saw you, I realized I was about to listen to a load of horse shit.

I'd rather have the mouldy baguette

Hunting is better. Atleast the so called Carnivores don't cause as much damage as support factory farming.
