I'm just at the beginning of the learning curve in regards to modern slavery, and this was a good place to begin

Slavery is a human and environmental destruction. It calls ones passion to change it and combat it to end this issue. Collaboration and network will be stronger and wider in approach. Sr. Adel, SDS

Plain and simple, globalism is the economic theory of prosperity at the expense of these countries that tolerate slaves. It's called the externalization of cost. Countries must learn how to be self-subsisting. Sadly the US future president (HC) will further push the globalist agenda and constrict local energy to appease foreign interests. On the individual level we must each learn to curve our appetite for consumerism. Simplify and take as little as possible.

Modern Slavery is Taxation & Wages. Billions are enslaved worldwide. My opinion.

"[W]e have judged that it belonged to Our pastoral solicitude to exert Ourselves to turn away the Faithful from the inhuman slave trade in Negroes and all other men. [...] [D]esiring to remove such a shame from all the Christian nations, having fully reflected over the whole question and having taken the advice of many of Our Venerable Brothers the Cardinals of the Holy Roman Church, and walking in the footsteps of Our Predecessors, We warn and adjure earnestly in the Lord faithful Christians of every condition that no one in the future dare to vex anyone, despoil him of his possessions, reduce to servitude, or lend aid and favour to those who give themselves up to these practices, or exercise that inhuman traffic by which the Blacks, as if they were not men but rather animals, having been brought into servitude, in no matter what way, are, without any distinction, in contempt of the rights of justice and humanity, bought, sold, and devoted sometimes to the hardest labour. Further, in the hope of gain, propositions of purchase being made to the first owners of the Blacks, dissensions and almost perpetual conflicts are aroused in these regions.
We reprove, then, by virtue of Our Apostolic Authority, all the practices abovementioned as absolutely unworthy of the Christian name. By the same Authority We prohibit and strictly forbid any Ecclesiastic or lay person from presuming to defend as permissible this traffic in Blacks under no matter what pretext or excuse, or from publishing or teaching in any manner whatsoever, in public or privately, opinions contrary to what We have set forth in this Apostolic Letter."
- Pope Gregory XVI, In Supremo Apostolatus, 1839 -
Fear and ignorance with generous helpings of poverty and the greed of evil people are the worst enemies of humanity.
Tell me which products and services are made and delivered by slaves and I will not consume them. Let's all do this. Otherwise we are as guilty of enslaving people as the ones who are directly involved. -
Man, must be a really dangerous activity. Bet slave owners don't take kindly to people interfering with their "property".

More than 5 million in Japan? That's scary stuff since I want to live there plus it has a population of 120 million.

- it was a million people polulation. Because virtually every household had African slaves. Thus nobody had to fill their days with mindless, tedious manual labour. They had time to think and establish intricate political and philosophical forums. Later adopted by the Romans and then the world. its not like the civilisation we have established today is likely to one day go "obsolete" and the Chinese or, haha. Hillariously... Africans will have their turn in the sun before its our time again.

Americans have a special way of claiming superiority by default. To them, being "best" is a birthright and not something they need to achieve. However, contrary to flag-swinging nutters, americans are mostly European in origin. Hence they brought civilisation with them from Europe. And while its true the Greeks laid the fundament for modern day civilisation and democracy, They came up with this through the clever use of slaves... I just came back from Crete and back in ancient antiquity, -
-
how does a complete ignorance of world history make you superior? same way americans will be claiming superiority even as china owns the underwear on their asses. then the chinese will be claiming innate racial superiority...& the wheel keeps spinning. stating that africans failed to establish working civilizations is an incredibly moronic statement & betrays your overwhelming lack of basic knowledge & intelligence...the founders of greek civilization studied in africa
-
Yeah and obviously the very mention of evolution or differences in people is "racist" isnt it. Perhaps its time to put the racist card aside and focus on whats right instead. There is nothing "blissful" about it. Obviously we have all guilt and responsibility for everybody else not being as "superior" as we are. As children, its never Africans fault that they fail to establish working civilizations. Perhaps its time to use the knowledge and accept that perhaps OUR civilization, isnt for them.
