his week on the show we travel to the ginger farms of Navua to bring you the story of our very own ginger factory. From farming to harvesting, to processing and right down to the end product of ginger confectionery. Join us as we take you on journey through the organic ginger farm and show you just how ginger sweets are produced! Ginger is an awesome spice that is packed with nutrients and has been used for many centuries now due to it's great medicinal health benefits. They are very simple to grow. At the time of field preparation, ploughing is done 3 to 4 times and during last round of ploughing, compost is mixed with soil @ 2 tonnes for 20 decimal of land. Two types of fertilizer has been applied i.e. 60 kgs of SSP and 10 kgs of Potash for 20 decimal land. Furrows have been made with a spacing of 1.5 ft and fertilisers have been applied in the furrows. Ginger seed materials are kept in furrows with spacing of 6 to 8 inches, covered with soil and irrigation is applied
