vue - Minecraft Mythbusting Time! Does sugarcane *really* grow faster on sand???
Yo yo yo Minecrafters! I get comments all the time telling me that sugarcane grows much faster on sand than it does on dirt. I've always dismissed it as a myth (just like the myth that boats don't break if they hit soul sand or wool), but I decided to test it for myself... scientifically... with REDSTONE... and TNT!!!!!!!!! TNT TNT TNT! Useful Links: My Fully Automatic Sugar Cane Farm tutorial: http://youtu.be/hPCKui1bP9s

-

faked -
im guessing u placed surgarcanes on the sand first, wich made the big advantage for sand to win.
-
lol Notch knows the answer, he created the game so just ask him. duh
-
thanks that will really help me with my mini farm hey could you see if red mushrooms grow faster or slower than the brown mushrooms in minecraft
-
Guys this is a game not real physics
-
Simple way of seeing if it really does grow faster on sand is somebody checking the game code for sugar cane.
-
yes
noob -
Why do you have bone meal in your hand??????????????
-
thats epic
-
Well that conclusion was garbage. It grew faster on sand and set the tnt cannons off before the dirt even finished. With your experiment there you have to conclude that ALL the sugar cane on the sand grew to their full height BEFORE the sugar cane on the dirt. Thus it must have grown faster IN THAT PARTICULAR experiment.

Use dirt not grass
-
U CAN'T USING BONEMEAL AND SUGARGANE IT'S IMPOSSIBLE
-
did anyone else see the bone meal in his hands at 4:48?
-
Couldn't you just edit the music in?
-
He didn't use bonemeal cuz bonemeal only grows the full maybe or maybe not he might had used sugar cane
-
Maybe, in the growth tick algorithm, sand is checked FIRST, but not FASTER...
