vue - "NASA" - THORIUM REMIX 2016
Thorium is an abundant material which can be transformed into massive quantities of energy. To do so efficiently, requires a very different nuclear reactor than the kind we use today- Not one that uses solid fuel rods, but a reactor in which the fuel is kept in a liquid state. Not one that uses pressurized water as a coolant, but a reactor that uses chemically stable molten salts. Such a reactor is called a "Molten Salt Reactor". Many different configurations are possible. Some of these configurations can harness Thorium very efficiently. If you have ever heard the word THORIUM before now, that is because NASA paid $10,000 to have MSR research documents scanned. NASA needs power for space missions, but current nuclear reactors are ill-suited for off-world application. This video explores the attributes of Molten Salt Reactors. Why are they compelling? And why do many people (including myself) see them as the only economical way of fully harnessing ALL our nuclear fuels... including Thorium. THORIUM REMIX 2016 has been under development since 2012. I hope it conveys to you why I personally find Molten Salt Reactors so compelling, as do the many volunteers and supporters who helped create this video. Much of the footage was shot by volunteers. RTG's have still got Plutonium in them... which always make "duh people" shit bricks... But, y'know, Thorium would probably be better.

TAKE IT TO TRUMP!!!

The content could be more neutral, but great video.

Okay. I'm confused about something. University is kind of silly expensive for students to afford, yet... why don't these universities have money for things like next-gen energy R&D, while the sheer amount of cash going into these institutions just seems to be going up and up? What gives?

Man we should really do this!

Not sure if this has been suggested here yet, a lot of comments to go through. But how about we all tweet @realDonaldTrump politely suggesting he watch Thorium Remix 2016? He's a guy very into his image after all, and being itno space exploration is good for that, he wants to be more competitive with China, he reads Twitter. At the very least, it will be fun to see what happens.

@2:20 I see NASA is still doing fake landing special effects :P

Excellent video, thanks for posting this...

Totally worth the time ,great job with editing

Greatest line from the whole video: "More photons, means more potato"

is the channel death? why so long with out an upload

Politicians are always the problem when it comes to technology - In the US, Nixon and later Bill Clinton starved this research, Reagan shut down Carter's clean energy initiatives, Obama encouraging fossil fuels and now we have Trump. Fortunately China may take the initiative, perhaps producing tiny, super-efficient reactors for world-wide use.

we should have started building these years ago...

Thanks for making this video. I wish there was something I could do other than tell anyone who wants to listen about LFTR technology. I understand the momentum with conventional nuclear and I understand people don't want a meltdown, but this technology is so beautiful. With more investment I think we could do a lot of things we couldn't dream of doing before it. Cleaner, abundant energy, truly ecologically friendly electric cars, high-density urban farming, large scale desalination, long-range space missions, etc. I don't know what to do but I want to support Thorium!

"burning water" operability already passed patent office testing Stanley Allen Meyer patents are in the oublic domain

Bull shit propaganda

If it is safe (wich actually seems to be) then by all means, go for it. It seems the Chinese are grabbing the ´´crab´´, and then they will eat it, hihihihihi......Eyes open people. No fear. Be safe everyone.

@ 1:22:23 ironically, NASA did loose some moon footage, it got overwritten with satellite data I think. Even some Apollo 11 moonwalk footage only exists from what people recorded on thier televisions :P or maybe somethings going 'woosh' and I can't hear it

Thanks for this.
