I have gotten a sinus infection 2 months ago which led to me using nasal spray for a few days (which has never been a problem to me the years before) but after 5 weeks my nose would still get blocked after a while. After 6 weeks i was finally recovering from the sinus infection and i started to lessen my use of nasal spray. But a week later i got a sinus infection again.. so back to nasal spray. 2 weeks later i was finally almost recovered from the 2nd sinus infection and i stopped using nasal spray for about a week. But guess what... I got a sinus infection again.. So i finally went to the doctor and he prescribed me antibiotics. I told him i had used nasal spray for about 7 weeks daily and he prescribed me an even STRONGER nasal spray.. So i'm really confused now, should I use the nasal spray the docter prescribed to me or? I really wanna stop using it and i hope the antibiotics will clear up my sinus infection.

I was so bad with nasal spray addiction I was hiding my use from everyone including my parents. I used the sinusoothe nasal spray and it help me quit. Their website also had other ideas for me to follow but I just stuck with their spray. Great feeling to finally get off it.

When I was 5 I had a common cold and my dad gave me some afrin. I'm 16 and use a bottle every 2 weeks. It's like legal crack in my opinion. You try it and you can't quit. NEVER abuse this product. Haven't gone a night without it in eleven years.

I started using Flonase. Then I mixed my nose spray with about 50% water, used a neti pot and took decongestants and I managed to get off the afrin in about a week without a lot of rebound congestion.

A couple of months ago I went to an urgent care clinic and got a prescription for Flonase. It takes a week or so to actually start working, but it works. At least it has for me.

Interesting way to get off of the nasal spray. Thank God some of us have been able to kick this addiction without using crazy medications like Prednisone which a Allergist tried to prescribe me but I did research and beat this addiction using a natural holistic approach.I used Neem oil (google it its GOD SENT) in my nostrils and Camu Camu supplements as a anti inflammatory. The neem oil in my nasal passages help heal my nostrils within a week and I took Camu Camu-which is a natural supplement that has high levels of vitamin C. I took the neem oil twice a day by coating my nostrils and inhaling about 5 times and took 1 camu camu pill everyday. I was breathing better within a week. A holistic doctor informed me of how I can heal myself and it definitely worked!! :)

I had been addicted for well over a year, on and off, on varying brands of OTC nasal sprays. I finally got an infection from it, and had enough with not being able to breathe and waking up in a panic with COMPLETELY BLOCKED sinuses. Went to my doctor after I did a bit of research and asked for FLONASE. If you suffered like I did, this stuff was a miracle cure. It takes a few days to take effect, but once it does.. omg. I could BREATHE again. Flonase and it's generic is a corticosteroid nasal spray. Two sprays once or twice a day for several days. It cost me around 16 bucks, but it's worth it. Believe me.

I was using a common over the counter spray with Oxymetazoline, I thought my cold was getting worse until i realized that it was the spray itself was causing the problem. It led to an infection with my nose blocked constantly & in the end i needed antibiotics to clear it up. It still took a couple of years to be somewhere near right again but i now suffer very badly from allergy's and need occasional prescription steroid nasal spray & anti histamine.
I'd avoid them totally to be honest & have a cold & bunged up nose for a few days. -
Using affrin at the moment and I think it gave me a bad rash.
Also I have to use it a lot or I feel like I Cnt breath and start having a panic attack any help? -
i never liked nasal sprays and rarly use them but when i do .. it can do wonders

Sinusoothe can definitely help with this. i used it for sinus issues and it was amazing. a friend tried it for their nasal addiction and they said it was so good they sent an email to the company thanking them.
