Hi enjoy the videos, I wanted to find out about planting baby
store bought onions and if they will go to seed because they are a biennial
plant. I have small 1 inch white pearl onions. I prefer for them to go to seed
because from the seed I can grow the equivalent of welsh onions. I large green
head green onions. Do you think this plan makes sense and what are the chances
of success given your gardening experiences? -
Blah blah blah. Leaving your talk
-
You talk too much. Talk about your subject. Boring
-
Your videos are informative, but you too frequently go off on needless tangents and just ramble too much.
-
to far off the topic
-
When do you start them to transplant in April???

great tips luke!

Great info here! I am new to growing onions this year so this was most helpful!

Your onion seedlings looks great.I planted some onions and just waiting for it to grow, if it grows. lol I tried last year with no luck. This year I feel lucky because this is my second year of gardening so I have a year experience lol How long have you been gardening? You are good

Great video, Luke!
I wish I had the space and the pots to pot up onions like that; unfortunately mine have to deal with tighter quarters until they go out in the garden. I have nowhere near enough space (or pots) to pot up the more than 1000 onions I've started from seed. -
Can't wait to see those giants. Bet it feels GREAT to be out in the greenhouse. Thanks for the tip on the staking - very ingenious! Fun, informative episode, Luke!

what does "before too long" mean?

Thanks for the tips Luke! I look forward to seeing the 3 lb (or 5 lb) onions.

Great onion growing tips +MIgardener just want to say that I believe onion sets do have a role in the garden, we always grow them for a nice spring onion to eat raw or in a salad, they are always cleaned up before they get to any size. They are a quick fix for that fresh onion feed. A nice cold water mug of fresh spring onions & radish at the dinner table is always a special treat. I do agree that for an onion of any size you have to start from seed. Thanks for sharing, the greenhouse is definitely going to be a plus before you move your plants outside. Cheers

Your onions look so big already! :-) I'm still deciding if I want to plant some this year.

Luke, your onions look soooooo good. Perlite, peatmoss and that is it? Do you fertilize them?
