Nice job! I need to keep trying to grow Ganoderma Lucidum. Too many problems with contamination. Cheers!

There's no reason to worry about sterile condition BEFORE the water bath. That sterilizes everything.Like another commenter said, use a still air box (SAB).

Nice vid mate , did you have success with this method ??
I would like to try too ... -
Why do you think they need to be kept in dark ? Don't they grow faster if kept in indirect sun light ?

can any one help me for contamination

Question, I'm new to this. Help me to understand the point of the water bath. Everyone says pasteurize the grain in the water bath, how is this helping when the grain has already been boiled for 10 minutes? Please and thank you so much!

whats the point of sterilizing and steaming the jars if youre just going to expose them to the open air afterwards? if youre trying to keep it sterile, you should, first of all, use a pressure cooker, and do your spawning in a still air box - aka a big plastic bin with 2 holes big enough for you to comfortably put your arms inside. you use it by putting your stem butts (in their own container) and grain jars inside the bin, slightly crack the lid open and spray hot soapy water in a fine mist all inside the bin and then close it up. this creates a still air environment and the hot soapy water knocks most of the particulates out of the air. put disposable gloves on. wipe gloves with isopropyl alchohol. reach into the holes in the side of the box and inoculate just like you did.
or if this all sounds like too much work, which i believe it is, especially if youre not autoclaving/pressure cooking your spawn, join me in experimenting with even lower tech cultivation that doesnt require grain or boiling water.
cardboard spawn, to me, seems highly underrated and deserving of much more experimentation in our community.
any update on this video? did your jars turn out good? any harvests?
thanks for sharing! -

Am just starting a spore culture using Japanese sticky rice well rinsed and cooked for my crimini mushrooms. I understand the they really don't like starch per se but will see what comes. That and I can't wait to start some shitakis. Already have smaller oak logs for my wood stove. Just gotta get 'water shocked', bored and plugged. Starting my culture there with dried shitakis run through a coffee mill and mixed in with hard wood dowels. Ought to be a kick. Thanks for all the info on the net. Wish me luck.

Nice job! I am just starting to do some of these things. I have not tried the grain spawn yet, but I do have a video series I just started about starting King Trumpet oyster mycelium on cardboard. Hope they turn out good for you!
