vue - Plant Potatoes in Bags of Burlap Above Ground from Home Grown Fun
Come visit me on Facebook for more potato growing updates and garden experiments! http://www.Facebook.com/HomeGrownFun Recycled coffee sacks provide a natural grow bag for planting potatoes above ground at home, on your balcony, patio or in the backyard. They give the potatoes awesome air flow and drainage. They last one season and can be composted. See how we plant seed potatoes in burlap almost all year round in San Diego. At Home Grown Fun, we love to inspire everyday folks to grow their own food. Visit our website for more inspiration, adventures, crafts, food and fun. Hang out with us on Facebook and Twitter. @6:24 potato that came out is huge...

I wanna try this too but I'm afraid the ants may attack the potatoes. :(

this is superb

I'm experimenting with this method, and so far the burlap bags are slightly outperforming the 10 gallon grow bags, which are better than the wine barrel, which is better than a 15 gallon black plastic pot. They are the best out of the four methods I'm simultaneously using. The air permeation definitely helps quite a bit....Chris in Victoria BC

Cool! If you mulched those bags with straw you could use less water and get some compost forming too

can you use water to help them sprout will this make them sprout faster then plant them.

I dont use manure when growing potatoes for fear of scab.

I know this is an old video, but it was perfect timing for me. My husband and I are opening a coffee house and starting a food co-op. I've been researching ways to grow potatoes. I love your video! We will have so many coffee sacks and now they are going to be put to good use. Your video was fun to watch. Nicely done.

Coffee is the most difficult plant to grow.Too much water they die,too much heat they die.they like dry roots, but they need moisture to get nutrients.I lost 9 of my 14 coffee plants.3 are doing well so far,but rain season is hurting them, even with proper drainage.

How was the yield?

What size are your bags and where did you buy them? I am having trouble finding good prices. Thanks for your help and great video!
