Do you use a NIR camera? Or just the drone cam? I do the same as you do here in france, and with the tiles, i find the end of the winter is the best moment especilly in established crop like winter barley! I do not use Nir cam and i'd like to know if it 'll bring me much more info? Does it worth the investment? Thanks for this good video!

Yes Yes you never want to fly into the white house...

This is great and all, but the issue is unless this farmer is a certified pilot he's flying that drone illegally. FAA states that commercial use of a drone requires the PIC to be part 61 certified. Now on August 29th Part 107 comes out, and this farmer can get certified by taking a test. FAA will be rolling out new technology to track drones here soon, and they are fining people a lot of money. Also drone deploy and pix4d are horrible mapping tools and give very smh 3d models. I recommend Context capture for any drone 3D modelling. This is just my take. Great vid.

Hi Chad, thanks for the great video. This concept is great and with Drone Deploy's ability to process images into NDVI mapping the wealth of information is substantial. But, he spoke of the importance of following the letter of the law and I'm just curious if the Section 333 Exemption to the regulation of it not being legal to fly a UAS for commercial purposes (at the time of this post) has been utilized in this case or if he, like possible many other producers, are flying under the radar? Surely I'm missing something. Again, thanks!

Maybe something to investigate but my yield maps often reflect and correlate well with the NDVI images I can get from a drone especially when I have muti years of data, been trying both ways of deciding where to nitrate sample from and it pretty much gives the same result of accuracy on where to pull samples from to get an idea of each zone of the field.
