Iowa State University Extension and Outreach strives to build on existing partnerships with high schools, FFA chapters, homeschool families, colleges, businesses and industries to offer educational field days. ISU Extension and Outreach hosted 9-12th grade agricultural education students and teachers in Northwest Iowa at the Northwest Iowa Research and Demonstration Farm. Every high school in Cherokee, Clay, Dickinson, Lyon, O’Brien, Osceola, Plymouth and Sioux County was invited to participate. The global purpose of the field days is to engage students in hands-on learning and to create awareness of endless career possibilities in Iowa. The goal is to connect youth with local business and industry leaders, thereby creating awareness of the ever-evolving agriculture industry and providing information and resources on how students can prepare for these careers.
