vue - Redesigning Civilization -- with Permaculture
Modern agriculture, industry and finance all extract more than they give back, and the Earth is starting to show the strain. How did we get in this mess and what can we do to help our culture get back on track? The ecological design approach known as permaculture offers powerful tools for the design of regenerative, fair ways to provide food, energy, livelihood, and other needs while letting humans share the planet with the rest of nature. This presentation will give you insight into why our culture has become fundamentally unsustainable, and offers ecologically based solutions that can help create a just and sustainable society. This is the sequel to Toby's popular talk, "How Permaculture Can Save Humanity and The Planet, but not Civilization." "...These were the free-est people on earth.." They put a grid on it, for control, & domination, for corruption of our Nature, the beauty of our Nature, the First Nations' Nature, & we destroyed their home, their relationship with their ecosystem, as we mistakenly see it now, as separate....which they never saw as
"property"... They see it as our relations, their relations. We are being killed by greed, dedication to designs of degeneration that began...with the free-est people on earth needing nothing from the invaders, and the invaders feeling terrified. Fear is here, & it is our love that dissolves it. It is permaculture that shows us the Way, a way, our way with the care and experience, and humility, strength, courage of the First Nations to guide us now. How do we show our gratitude for their patience with our ignorance? I say we unite in Love, ask what they want now, need now, & how do we take responsibility for all we have destroyed and now threaten to kill off entirely, including humanity? We are born to Love. Let's Love Permaculture & co-create a permanent culture that grows in harmony, abundance, diversity, beauty and clarity in perpetuity, together. It is what Nature is doing. Godspeed Toby! You will be greatly missed! But your work will live on!

Tracy, he said that happened 25,000 years ago. Unfortunately, due to electronic devices, we are losing focus and attention span. We can't even focus long enough to hear and process a full lecture.
-
Sorry, you lost me after stating that we needed to "evolve" to think symbolically.

Orange Square in Spain, sick example, the community harvest and sell the juice and other products on the square. Hosts events and things too is a centre for happiness.

Toby, I'm watching your video right now, and so far it is super interesting but before I finish I want to address a few things from your premise. It seems to me that you are doing logical summersaults in stating that the goblenci tempe site was constructed before agriculture. The idea that ag was invented millennia after that date is an assumption, and a pretty bad one in my opinion. That site totally contradicts that assumption. Also the idea that people were irrigating for 'wild' plants is not logical. Why in the world are you assuming that people would not plant a seed on purpose? There would have to be a worldwide severe cultural taboo in place that prohibited planting. Humans were not stupid back then, in fact I would say humans are much more stupid now. It may be inherent in our nature to chose a seed and plant it and tend to the seed, that is much more likely in my opinion than civilizations that built stone temples with illusionistic carving and irrigated 'wild' plants but did not know how to plant a seed. I understand that you have a theory and supposition but you are twisting the facts to support it. If humans could create such an advanced temple, there is no reason in the world to assume that they could not cultivate plants and animals for food. You are using an outdated estimate of the dawn of agriculture and applying it to a new finding that completely contradicts that assumption. Nobody knows when agriculture was invented. You should not use assumptions as facts, especially when new findings point to them being wrong. Agriculture could very well go back hundreds of thousands of years and there is no way we would know it. Your premise is not necessary to support an argument for permaculture. I don't mean to nit pick because I am in full support of what you are doing but I think we need to be careful about making up stories based on bad assumptions and presenting them as facts. The most logical thing to assume is that humans have been around for a very very long time and could have had many booms and crashes of civilizations and we would be none the wiser. Don't believe the archeologists because they are absolutely the most unscientific people imaginable and they twist facts to support their overarching theories.

Other good books are by a small farmer named Gene Logsdon. He's most known for his book The Contrary Farmer. Also take a look at his book Holy Shit, about using waste products to grow food.

Man I love when people who live in the year 2015 talk facts and date stuff 40k 30k years ago. Boy faith is wonderful!
-
this was pretty eye opening to me. thanks

Great talk! Nice to think that the role of humans is not necessarily to destroy ecological systems, that we have a chance to restore them and to become a part of them once again.

My favorite take away from this talk (that I've not seen in other presentations) is the extrapolations of "zones" from one's own parcel of land to the greater picture... Where zone 1 is your garden and zone 2 is your neighbourhood, etc. I myself am not legally permitted to own livestock in the city. Not even hens. But there are farmer's markets in my community who sell organic, free-range eggs. I can absolutely apply that to my modern, suburban way of life, and I believe my neighbors and friends can, too, without any cost to me or additional effort. I'm driving to the supermarket to supplement my meager garden's production, anyway - why not turn left instead of right, and go to the farmer's market instead of the Superstore? Excellent talk.

1) Fundamental Global change is about to Activate. With Freedom comes Personal Responsibility (Do no harm). Certain events are vital and necessary in order for Humanity to evolve.
2) ADVICE: The Earth has become a Construction Site with Humanity as the Architects/Builders with the Task of co-creating a new World that works for Everyone - be using new Technology. Use your Buying Power locally. Use this new wealth to aid this world, each other, & yourselves. Environment: Clean up the vast amount of Pollution in the Water, Land, & Atmosphere - what we eat & how we live must be redesigned by using different methods to be in Harmony with Nature. The key is to move toward abundance & joy. The new Governance of the People, by the People, for the People is to supply a grand plan for all of these. This plan requires your input and suggestions. Humanity is its own Savior.
3) PRICE CHANGE: After 1-2 months after NESARA's activation, the prices of goods & services will be reduced by 90% ($1.00 Price reduced to 10 cents) to erase Inflation; Salaries stay the same giving you extra spending power for 1 month. 1 Month after Goods & Services reduced prices, Salaries will be reduced by 90% matching the prices of Goods & Services. This will happen in multiple Countries.
FUTURE COMMERCE: New Technology released by NESARA will create Natural Abundance rendering Money Obsoelete. (No Currency) Basic Needs are met for Free, and Luxuries (Art, Massage, etc.) are Bartered through an advanced Sophisticated, Computerized Barter System.
4) GUIDANCE: Take Full Personal Responsibility in the way we Think, Feel, Act, & Live with a Sustainable Lifestyle -> Permaculture (Natural Abundance of Nature). Ethic # 1) EARTH CARE: Nature Stewardship. All life forms are equal in intrinsic value, and need to be respected for the functions that they perform (Natural Fertilizer, repel Pests, etc.). Earth is one Eco-System, living in Harmony with Nature is the best way to care for all living things. Like having a Living Organic Diet: Eat only fresh Foods with Life Force such as Vegetables, Grains, Fruits, & Nuts - long healthy life. Ethic # 2) PEOPLE CARE: Community responsibility, cooperation, mutual respect. Begins with ourselves expanding to include our families, neighbors and wider communities. Self-reliance is focusing on non-material well-being, taking care of ourselves and others only producing & consuming necessary material resources. We empower ourselves by accepting personal responsibility for our lives & our world. "Many hands make light work." Fun to do a Task with Others. Ethic # 3) FAIR SHARE: Based on Natural Abundance of Food & Resources. Balance - take what you need (a natural limit to what one person can eat/take) & share the surplus with others.
5) (U.S. Constitution) PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS: Happiness is the experience of joy, contentment, and positive well-being, combined with a sense that one’s life is good, meaningful, successful, and worthwhile. The feeling of happiness is achieved by following one’s heart and doing what they love.
A) Build a JOY BASED LIFE: (100% Voluntary) You Follow your Heart -> You use your unique, original natural Talent by You choosing & doing a Job you Love to do for the Joy of it. (Inner) JOY is our True State of Existence. Live in the NOW (the Present) in every moment. There are already People who Love being Teachers, Doctors, Engineers, Scientists, Gardeners, etc.
B) NO FORCE INCENTIVE: (Service of Others, Cooperation) Each Person possesses unique, original natural Talents they are born with. Your natural Talents are to be used to find the joy you need to truly be in ecstasy. When you constantly use your natural talents to aid your society and sustain your world, you discover an inner joy. This maintains and enlivens you. You gladly join with others to form relationships that sustain each other. In service to each other we will remain free. This creates a strong, close Community.
6) SAYINGS: "Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it." - Steve Jobs. “Make your work to be in keeping with your purpose.” - Leonardo da Vinci. "Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life." - Confucius. “You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.” - Buckminster Fuller.
