That was great. I just LOVE my French Vanilla and never quite know what to do with the seeds. Can they just dry in the envelope? or do you need to wait until the seed pod is dry and THEN remove the seeds for savings. Thanks again, love the flowers in with your Watermelons!

Very good tip - a lot people don't realize the flowers are full of seeds. You could plant a whole field with just a few plants by the time the year is over. That labeling thing won't necessarily work for knowing what color the flower will be - they can be cross pollinated with either your other varieties or from someone else's garden and you can possibly get different colors...even with the same color plant if they are carrying color genes of other varieties that just aren't being expressed.

I hear ya. I am just glad that your alive and kicking. I have enjoyed your videos a lot, and I learn a lot from them. How is that fall garden going? I just transplanted a few Georgia Collards tonight. I will probably make a video soon showing an update on my garden. I hope to see your fall garden videos as soon as your done with that honey do list. Take care and God bless!!!

Hi there. I've been steadily making garden videos constantly since late February. With the back going out, the oppressive August heat and a sharp drop in views in August, I thought it would be a good time to take a brief break from YouTube and work on a big list of honey do's around the house ;-)
-
Is every thing ok? Many of us I am sure are wondering. I know you mentioned on your blog about throwing out your back and what not, but since we have heard from you in about a month makes me wonder if anything else is wrong. I just care about you, and I hope your fine and that you will be putting up some videos soon.

-
I never dead head and therefore I had no idea one could harvest seed from marigolds... I need to try this asap.. thank you very much for taking the time to create a video about this.
-
Thank you Kim. I really appreciate that.

I love saving marigold seeds because it is sooo easy to harvest the seeds and they are sooo plentiful! Thanks for another great video, Reaganite. I added you to my favorite channels list on my YT homepage. You have so much great into on your channel - and are entertaining to watch - keep it up!

It's possible I suppose. If it happens, I'll just consider it an interesting development ;-)

Will they hybridize when two varieties are planted so closely/
-
I'd say go for it now, understanding that it can be up to three months before you see a harvest and also with the knowledge that tomatoes need a certain number of hours of sunlight a day to ripen. As the fall wears on the days shorten of course which makes that harder to accomplish prior to frost.

I was wondering what you be your opinion in growing tomato plants from seed for the fall as I live in south tx. My current tomato plants arent producing anything due to our extreme hot weather, about 2wks ago it was raining for a whole wk so our temp dropped which made some tomatoes pop up. We still have some 80 degree weather in december and at this point Im thinking about early being force to plant early in the yr so the plants can produce before we get the extreme constant temp.

Thank you, I was wondering when were they gonna bolt, lol Glad I saw your video else I would have waited my entire life. Picked one and already have a bunch of seeds form my Dwarf French Marigold.

Three or four days spread out on a coffee filter ought to do the trick ;) I put them in the envelope to get them all in the house without the wind blowing them away. I tell ya what, you could start a marigold nursery quite easily just collecting all of the dead heads. I filled the envelope up in about 20 minutes.
