This is sad. Watching these farmers spray their crops with shorts and no protection is heart breaking. Glad to see this finally going more mainstream. More and more people are demanding organic foods. Fight the greedy chemical companies with your purchases.

Great documentary. But it needs to be taken up by government to propagate it to public on prime time TV in local languages. If government can campaign against tobacco on TV, why not something which is unknowingly affecting almost every citizen.
I used to hear and think that village atmosphere is much cleaner and healthier. Seeing this video I think it is myth. -
Translate in the native languages and take it to the farmers, villagers. What is thr profit in making this video in English, people who knows English are lazy sloths surfing Internet for nothing.

A nice and informative documentary. Liked the opening, loved the ending. The film has a pan-Indian perspective, so wish there were more effects and local music, and more use of the cinematic idiom. In eastern India, pesticides wiped out the paddy prawn and the paddy crab which lived in the waters at the bases of the plants. They were a part of the local cuisine. Along with them, the numbers of the common fox and wildcats of various kinds that lived on them drastically declined. Dealing with this issue is the call of the day. The film also reminded me of an interview of the Japanese agricultural scientist Masanobu Fukuoka published way back in the mid-1980s. Fukuoka espoused 'do-nothing farming'.

I am moving to Kashmir for good in two or three years. I love India. Thanks for the info. Will definately be trying to access organic stuff. I have experienced eating my lunch while fruit-picking in Australia, and a big old tractor has sprayed pretty much everthing down-wind with copper-based fungacide including me and my work-mates, and what we were eating and so forth. So it seems the same problem is everywhere. But the funny thing is, contary to myth, organic farmers get pretty much the same, or even a better yeild in the long term.

farmers of india are not aware of agricultural policy then what is the meaning of formulating agricultural policy in india. the agricultural policy clearly states that DDT is banned but u do not see any farmer not using DDT .farming is such a noble profession , government should give proper attention towards it . thanks to people who made this documentary which is simple , crystal clear and thought provoking .
