I gotta say john that feeding the bees sugar water for the first month after getting them will make them stay and it will make them grow faster. I'd say that it'll make them grow faster but if you don't like that you could feed them home made sugar beet syrup or something like that. Maybe molasses from sorghum would do too. I'm getting a top bar hive.

I'm gonna get a new hive soon. Love them. Don't let the vegans tell you that it's mean to keep bees. The bees would much rather be safe and alive and have a clean and secure warm hive than being out in the wild. They are just looking to be special when they say bees are oppressed. I love the vegan lifestyle just I'm not giving up honey which is healthy and tasty.

next there will be bee lives matter groups

Too bad, what you took away from that "class" was a lot of half-truths and prejudical miss-information.
-
"provide them a place to live" like a bee section 8 lol

Moved a small nuc over to a deep with no smoke and got popped 20+ times. The gentleness comes from the genetics not the shape of the box. A little smoke and the same bees didn't even bother me. Don't kid your self. Buy the hex because it's cool looking not because you believe the bees will be gentle. Wild bees living in trees aren't gentle.

Thanks John. I'd like to be a helper to bees!!!

Only one amount of money... Great deal!

How can a hex hive represent nature, your saying you don't get rectangular trees well you don't get hexagonal tress either they're round so representing nature would be to make a round hive would it not?
-
this video is so american - you go on about rectangular shapes and how we have to mimic nature and then show us hex hive with rectangular shapes, also did she do some studies with it, how it works and stuff - see charles dadant and the rest of the old beekeepers how many experiments they did with their hives - also...she created videos so the world can see how to keep bees naturally? oh please, the arrogance on these people, land of the salesman. I like the open frame idea in the brood compartment though. Thanks for the video but take it down a gear.

You can't enslave a bee. It's going to do what they do, if they happen to live in a nice secure wooden box that we make, by all means. They're insects. If you like fruit and don't advocate 'bee slaves'... well, drop the fruit.

2:40 and that is why last wasp nest I found got sprayed electrocuted and crushed

Humans biggest mistake is to be rewarded for their ingenuity thru the restriction of a patent, the reward will naturally come from nature itself thru the caring of it. If we are so concerned for the nature of the bee why are we patenting our ideas, she has a great idea for the hex hive, why restrict a good idea with the rights of a patent. I am not actually asking why but rather pointing out where we go wrong, it is people like this lady that gives us the opportunity to further our development for the betterment of us and nature, should her idea work for the betterment of it, but automatically slow that betterment thru the restriction of a patent
