Brief instructions on how to start mycelium for the mushrooms you want to grow at home inexpensively and easily. In this video I show what to do to get mycelium running in cardboard. Mushrooms are like the flowers of mycelium. This is how to grow mycelium from mushrooms you buy at the supermarket. I made several errors based on inexperience in this video, like saying you need to burp the container daily, which is wrong. You don't have to burp it at all. If you want to make a container that "burps" itself, allowing for air exchange without exposing your media to contaminating spores, there is a great little video on making a breathing container at - http://youtu.be/FK6LszaActA If you want to grow Mushrooms this is not the wya, this method is for learning about cloning fungi from a mushroom you buy at the store. It is an easy and cheap way to produce Mycellium. maybe i using inmature tissue to inoculation so it wont growth?

hi Sir i do grow alot of mycelium using cardboard,btw i having some problem when i using grain or petri dish with mushroom tissue ,as no mycelium growth at all,can i transfer mycelium into petri dish or grain with card board?or use inoculation loop and transfer to petri dish?

Thank you for sharing all this great videos , I wanted to ask how long does the mycellium takes to grow ? also is there any particular kind of mycellium that you have found has better properties than others ? I hear is great for insulation and also for compost as its great for the ground. Also if the cardboard was to drie after the mycellium has grown does the mycellium become like powder or does it keep its form.. Thank you I would really appreciate your response ! all the best !

can i just bought mushrooms from the super market and plant those mushrooms instead, i remember having a packet in my frige and after a week or so i saw mycelium growing on it, could i took that and do this thing work?

pretty non sterile way there Jack. wonder what your contam rate is? no pc'ing? flame sterilization? I usually do mine in a sab to keep that "green monster" away.

but when the material becomes white i can put it into soil?the micellium will spread into the soil right? and when it is really white even the soil the mushromm.will grow right?
