vue - TOBACCO - Making Markets: Land Reform, Agriculture and New Local Economies in Zimbabwe
This film is part of a series emerging from a research project looking at the relationships between space, markets, employment and agricultural development in southern Africa (http://www.future-agricultures.org/smead). The films focus on the impacts of new farm production following land reform in Zimbabwe on the local economy. In addition to a short introduction and an overview, there are three films looking at different commodities (tobacco, beef and horticulture), each offering case studies of farms, and their economic linkages.

So Mugabe is a hero of the people?!? WOW! Who would've thought that giving enriched farmland back to the people would result in capital and job growth for the Zimbabwean people? Oh wait, everyone, including the UN. I'm just glad that Zuma in south africa is finally coming around as well. The land belongs to the indigenous. Good guy Mubage
